Directors' Fortnight has selected the short film Anna, directed by Rúnar Rúnarsson, for its 41st edition, which takes place during the forthcoming Cannes Film Festival, from May 14th to 24th, 2009.
This will be the world premier.
Anna is in competition for The SFR Award for the best short film presented at the Directors' Fortnight,
The 35 minutes long film is from the National Danish Film School and is a graduation film even though Rúnarsson and his team will first graduate in June.

Rúnarsson and his team have already received numerous awards for
"2 Birds", who attended the Cannes in 2008 in the competition program for short films. His previous short film
"The Last Farm", was Oscar-nominated in 2006 and also received numerous prices.
"Anna" portraits a young girl in a delicate period of her life. The 12-year-old Anna, who lives in a fishing village, is at crossroads. Her world is changing - and so is she.
